You will be completing our proprietary agent form.  It is four pages long and asks for information about you, your agency, and your business setup.

We will need agent and agency licenses for each state in which you intend to sell Medicare Insurance Plans.  Clear, PDF copies of the actual certificates are required.  Please check expiration dates.

Licenses

Medicare carriers require a copy of your E & O certificate.  Please make sure that all writing agents are listed on the certificate or declarations page as covered parties of your agency level plan.

We will need a copy of a voided check or deposit slip since we will be setting you up directly with most carriers who will send you commissions via direct deposit.

  • Changing Uplines? If you are joining the partnership and are coming from another upline, we will need release letters and forms, click here to request contact from a team member who can assist with this process.

  • Sole Proprietor? Most often, agencies that we work with contract as "agencies."  The one exception is sole-proprietors.  If this is you, let us know before moving forward.

  • Agency Owner? Each agency must have a "principal agent."  This does not always have to be the owner.  If you have questions about setting up your agency, more information can be found here, or click here to request contact from a team member.

  • Most insurance carriers now offer web-based contracts.  TLC and EFL will initiate a request on your behalf and you will receive separate emails from each carrier with a contracting link.  If you are just getting started, we recommend only requesting three or four carriers initially as you can always add more as needed.  Other carriers still use "paper" contracts which we will send to you as PDFs.  Our team will schedule a virtual meeting with you to walk you through the contracting process to ensure all is done correctly the first time.

  • To represent Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plans, we are required to complete annual certifications.  The biggest piece of these requirements is a Medicare Training course called the AHIP.  In addition, we complete carrier specific training for each carrier we chose to represent.  None of these certifications are proctored or high pressure, but they do require time and attention.  As always, we are here to help if you hit any roadblocks.

  • We offer ongoing online and one-on-one training for our partners.  Many of our trainings are recorded and housed on our Partnership YouTube Channel and in the Partner Portal on this website.  Best of all, our trainings are designed specifically with Erie Agencies in mind which means we focus on your whole business, not just Medicare Insurance Plans.
